SCOTT SCHAFFER

Scott grew up in Montpelier, Idaho and graduated from Bear Lake High School. After completing a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in The Dakotas, he attended Idaho State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. After graduation he moved to Boise Idaho where he was employed as a Registered Nurse at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center working full time in the Intensive Care Unit, where he gained valuable assessment skills caring for a wide variety of patients. After spending two years in that department he transitioned to the hospital Emergency Department. He enjoyed the fast pace of emergency medicine. It was during this time he also continued his education earning a master’s degree in nursing at Idaho State University, graduating in May 2013.

Scott is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He has been working in family practice and primary care since graduating and has a diverse background in acute care, pre-surgical care, correctional healthcare, family practice, wellness programs and urgent care. He is trained and certified in the insertion and removal of the Nexplanon implant. Scott is also a certified medical examiner for the Department of Transportation.

When Scott is not attending to his patients he can be found spending time with his wife, his young daughter and their family pet morkie named Ruger! He enjoys many outdoor activities like golfing, hunting and camping.
